Adult Residential Facility (ARF)
Initial Certification Training Program was designed for people who wish to become Administrators of Adults Facilities and Adult Programs for clients 19 through 59 years of age. An individual shall be an adult residential facility certificate holder prior to being employed as an Administrator. Initial Certification Training Program curriculum was designed to incorporate the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Requirements, for administrators. The Initial training program is a 35-hour instruction program required to be completed by persons who wish to become certified for the first time.
The Course contents are as outlined below:
Day 1
Laws & Regulations: 6 hours
Cultural Competency: 1 hour
Day 2
Management/Supervision of Staff: 3 hours
Psychosocial Needs: 4 hours
Day 3
Community & Support Services: 3 hours
Physical Needs: 4 hours
Day 4
Medication: 4 hours
Admission & Assessment Retention: 3 hours
Day 5
Emergency Intervention Non-Violent: 4 hours
Business Operations: 3 hours
