Fundamental Training Solution’s mission is to provide effective and knowledgeable residential training for Residential Counselors and Leadership through real-life examples and experience-based training. FTS’s purpose is to assist California’s Adult and Children’s Residential Programs through experience in Leadership, Compliance and Training.

About John Smith, Owner
For over 15+ years, I’ve dedicated myself to providing children and adults who are in residential settings with a safe environment. A journey that I accidentally fell into as a residential counselor at Leroy Haynes in La Verne. The first year was the hardest because there is so much to learn and until very knowledgeable colleague took me under her wing and showed me the ropes. The experience was challenging but incredibly rewarding, and it ignited a deep passion for this field.
A few years later, I moved into a mid-management position, a supervisor noticed strengths in me that I hadn’t recognized. With her support, I developed a passion for training staff, creating strong and cohesive teams so to better understand leadership principles, I pursued a Master’s in Public Administration with a focus on Organizational Leadership, which I completed in 2013. Since then, I have served in various leadership roles throughout the Los Angeles area. This journey of learning, leadership, and dedication inspired me to create Fundamental Training Solutions, a company built on the principle of passing on knowledge and empowering others to succeed.
That is the reason Fundamental Training Solutions was created.
